Headlines and Features Murphy PTO Tubing Fun! The Murphy Elementary School PTO hosted Murphy Family Hawk Island Tubing Night on Monday, January 31! Nearly 200 Murphy students and family members joined in the fun for this two-hour event. The PTO reserved the tubing hill exclusively for Murphy Elementary and the event sold out in 15 minutes! Thank you to the PTO for planning this extra special night for Murphy families! Comments (-1) High School Collects Gifts for Community Students and staff at Haslett High School once again partnered with Haslett Community Church to collect holiday gifts for Haslett families. Students in their 6th hour classes pooled money to purchase gifts requested by children in the community. In all, gifts were provided to 12 families! Congratulations to Mrs. Vessell's, Ms. Dykman's and Mrs. Wawro's classes for collecting the most gifts. They were rewarded with a cookie and hot cocoa party at school! Comments (-1) Ralya Cereal Box Dominos! Ralya Elementary School students and families collected well over 400 cereal boxes to donate to the Haslett Food Bank. The boxes were arranged throughought the school, stretching from the front office to the STEAM hallway, to create the cereal box domino challenge! Comments (-1) Wilkshire Bucket Assembly Once a month, a Bucket Assembly is held for students at Wilkshire Early Childhood Center. The Bucket Assembly is similar to a pep rally, where students and staff gather to cheer on monthly birthdays, as well as highlighting a particular theme. This month the Bucket Assembly theme was "We Are Thankful for Helping Hands!" Wilkshire students and staff acknowledged thanks and gratitude to paraprofessionals and custodians for their helping hands! The month of November is the perfect time for all of us to be thankful and grateful! Comments (-1) High School Students Rehearse for Musical Haslett High School students are excitedly preparing to present the musical WORKING - a collection of stories about people and their jobs! The production features music by James Taylor & Lin Manuel Miranda. Performances are scheduled for November 19 and 20 at the Haslett High School Performing Arts Center. Comments (-1) High School Chorale Performances The Haslett High School Choral Program recently completed their fall concerts. All ensembles gave excellent performances for their first live concert of the year. Pictured is Haslett High School's Chorale as they took this stage for the Advanced Choir Concert. Comments (-1) Día de los Muertos Lesson at Ralya Students in Mrs. Newman’s 4th grade class at Ralya Elementary School enjoyed learning about Día de los Muertos on Monday, November 1. The lesson was taught by J’Kyla Hobbs and Ana Quiroz-Vanegas, sophomores at Haslett High School. The students learned about Hispanic culture and traditions and created their own skeleton! Comments (-1) Murphy Pie Throwing Event On Friday, October 22, students at Murphy Elementary School were rewarded for their amazing fundraising efforts by throwing whipped cream pies at Mr. Hatch and Mrs. Dusenbery! The students were challenged by Mr. Hatch to reach a fundraising goal of $15,000 during the Murphy Fun Run Fundraiser and they didn't just reach it, they exceeded it by raising over $21,000!!
